Character's Name: Julianne Elise Roberts Gender: Female Age: 17 Grade: Senior Job (If Applicable): Lifeguard Wealth: Rich Impulse: Honesty Association: Harlow
Appearance:
Julianne is your typical blond when it comes to appearance. She has a bright, sweet smile that can light all the dark corners of a room and baby blue eyes that, when wielded correctly, can sway certain weaker minds to do her bidding. (She like to think of herself as a Jedi sometimes, see personality below for more information!) Her skin is fair but tans well, and her perfect blond hair takes little to no maintenance.
Julianne is also an athlete. Her father, who is quite athletic himself, has always pushed Julianne to be good at something that he is familiar with, such as sports. So, when he and her mother got into an argument about it (she was a little girl; only three), the agreed to let her swim. And thus, she became a swimmer. Whatever she's wearing, she probably has a bathing suit on underneath. As Julianne would be able to show you, swimming does great things to the female (and often male) body. She is tall and slender with plenty of muscle to back up everything she does... or says.
Personality:
Daddy's little girl: Julianne loves her father and always has. Ever since she was little he has tried to spoil her as best as he could because he felt that she deserved it for being so adorable. She always spent her spare time growing up running mini marathons or swimming or playing in some way with him. The only thing she did with her mom was shop, make dinner, and ride horses on the weekends.
Everyone who knew Julianne when she was little would use those three words to describe her. But as she grew up, and her impulses grew more pronounced, they began to know her by another name--Sister Julie Truth. They explained it like this: Julianne was so pure and sweet that she couldn't help to tell the truth, even when it hurt. Sheltered, no. Honest, yes. Her mother instilled in her a burning curiosity for life, but she also tried to enforce hard work and honesty. Well, she hit her mark. Or, rather, she shot through her mark and burned it to a crisp.
But Julianne is also a bit of a dork. She loves old comic books and reads all of the time. She enjoys writing things, but isn't all that creative. Her favorite movies are Star Wars and Sleeping Beauty, but there are many others that she loves to watch as well. Her favorite popular bands include Coldplay and Radiohead, but her favorite thing to listen to is classical, especially when she is trying to do homework or read. Her favorite author is C.S. Lewis.
Julianne is well respected around school, because she has been able to hold back many of her honest impulses. But now that she's a year away from graduating, and now that she is getting older, her impulses are getting harder to control. She is known for being honest, but when does honesty cross the line to brutality? Julianne has always been a sweet girl... but she is slowly realizing that her greatest virtue is also her greatest weakness.
History/Life:
Julianne was born to Rodney and Sandy Roberts of New York, New York. They were both powerful attorneys (she owned her own firm, and he was the District Attorney) and both made more money doing that than Sandy's father made by owning and running a casino in Las Vegas. But after her father's death, Sandy decided to keep the casino open and still rake in the profits anyway. And just when she got pregnant with Julianne, they decided to move to the brand new Harlow City.
The Harlows had been great friends with the Roberts since high school, when Molly (not yet a Harlow) and Sandy (not yet and Roberts) were best friends. Jack Harlow had also gotten Rodney's brother Mike out of a compromising situation once, meaning Rodney owed Jack. So when the Harlows told the Roberts about their new Island, the Roberts was one of the first families to travel over there. When Sandy turned up pregnant with Julianne, they decided to move there, and the Harlow's agreed to let them be the city's attorneys.
Julianne grew up running around with her father, mostly, but when they decided to let her play with children her age, it was the Harlow children. Oliver was her favorite, because he never threw sand at her like Gavin did. Despite this, Julianne didn't see other children much anyway, because they were all tutored by private professors until ninth grade. And by then, plenty of rich families had already moved onto the island, so that she wasn't stuck playing with the Harlow children, who were indeed spoiled.
Roleplaying Example:
Lily woke up early Saturday morning knowing that this year would be long and hard.
"Why does morning always come so early?" she wondered aloud. She thought about all that had happened to her in the past few days since the term started. James Potter had developed the most fantastic and obnoxious fascination with her, and it was creeping her out. He had always been rather fond of her, which she had been keeping at bay by ignoring him, but ever since she and Remus Lupin had been made prefects together? It was an all out war. He would bother her and ask her out, and she would get angry, tell him off and threaten to give him detentions. She wouldn't stoop so low as to take points away from Gryffindor. Yet.
Prefect. Lily had also been made one of two Gryffindor prefects. Remus Lupin, the other prefect, was always very amiable to her when James Potter and Sirius Black weren't around. But the fact that he was their best friend made her rather careful of him. She had no way of knowing whether or not he was as crazy as the other two were.
But this particular Saturday morning, Lily woke up refreshed. She couldn't go back to sleep, that was for sure, so she decided to go down to the Great Hall for an early breakfast. Alice, Lily's best friend, was still asleep in her bed (as were the other four girls), so Lily got dressed quietly and made her way out. The Common Room was deserted, as were the hallways and corridors. There were a few people walking around as she grew closer to the Great Hall, but other than that, most students didn't wake up at seven on a Saturday morning. To her immediate horror, she found that James Potter was one who did.
He was sitting there as bold as always, happily eating his over sized breakfast. He was alone, but Lily wasn't sure how she felt about that. She knew he would be more forward about his intentions when they were more or less alone, but she also knew that he wouldn't try to embarrass her if his friends weren't around. She also knew that she couldn't stand there in the doorway like an idiot all morning, nor could she avoid being seen by him once she walked in. So she walked in and sat down, and didn't once glance up at him. She was glad that she had decided to bring a book with her, so that she could focus on that.
(I hope everything's ok.. I chose Brittany Snow as my celebrity person.. Um.. there isn't much dialogue in my rp example, so if that needs to change just let me know! thanks, Kathleen.)
